These rules apply to all members of dobato.au. By participating on the Platform, you agree to follow them.
Violations may result in content removal, warning, suspension, or permanent ban. Moderation decisions are made at the discretion of the Platform and are generally final.
1. Respect & Behaviour
All members must treat each other with respect.
- Personal attacks, insults, harassment, or abusive language are not allowed
- Disagree with ideas, not individuals
- No intimidation, bullying, or targeted harassment
We encourage healthy discussion, not personal conflict.
2. Prohibited Content
You must not post content that is:
- Defamatory, false, or misleading
- Abusive, threatening, or harassing
- Discriminatory based on race, ethnicity, caste, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or nationality
- Sexually explicit or pornographic
- Promoting violence or illegal activity
- Infringing intellectual property rights
- Spam, scams, or deceptive advertising
Subtle or disguised forms of prohibited content are also not allowed.
3. Safety, Fraud & Scams
We maintain a strict zero-tolerance approach to fraud.
- No scams, fake listings, or misleading job/marketplace posts
- No impersonation of individuals or organisations
- No deceptive financial, employment, or business offers
Violations may result in immediate permanent ban and reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.
4. Privacy & Doxxing
Respect the privacy of others.
- Do not share personal information (phone number, address, workplace, photos, documents) without consent
- Do not attempt to identify or expose private individuals (“doxxing”)
- Do not publish private conversations without permission
Violations result in immediate enforcement action.
5. Spam & Self-Promotion
- No spam, repetitive posting, or irrelevant content
- No unsolicited advertising or referral links
- Commercial promotion must be placed only in designated areas (if available)
We may remove promotional content at our discretion.
6. Immigration Discussions
Users may share personal immigration experiences.
However:
- You must not present yourself as a registered migration agent
- You must not provide formal or legal immigration advice
- Always encourage others to consult a registered migration agent or qualified professional for official advice
7. Marketplace & Job Listings
- All listings are user-generated and not verified by dobato.au
- Users are fully responsible for their own transactions
- We strongly recommend caution in all dealings
- Meet in public places and avoid upfront payments where possible
- Report suspicious activity immediately
dobato.au is not responsible for any loss arising from user transactions.
8. Language
To ensure moderation quality:
- Content should be written in English or Nepali
- Posts in other languages may be removed if they cannot be reasonably moderated
9. Reporting Content
If you see a violation:
- Use the flag/report button on the post
- Select the appropriate reason
- Do not engage in public arguments or retaliation
Reports are reviewed by moderators.
10. Enforcement & Consequences
We apply rules consistently but reserve discretion depending on severity.
Violations may result in:
- Warning (minor first offence)
- Temporary suspension (repeat or moderate violations)
- Permanent ban (serious or repeated violations)
Immediate permanent ban offenses:
- Hate speech or severe discrimination
- Fraud or scams
- Doxxing or privacy violations
- Serious harassment or threats
11. Platform Rights
dobato.au is a private platform.
We reserve the right to:
- Remove or edit content
- Suspend or terminate accounts
- Restrict access to any feature
- Refuse service to any user
These actions may be taken at our discretion to protect the community and platform integrity.
12. No Appeal Policy (Limited)
Moderation decisions are generally final.
However, users may contact the administration at dobato.au@gmail.com if they believe a serious error has occurred. Abuse of this process may be ignored.
